Small, uniform sorghum kernels create thousands of inoculation points per bag — fast, even colonization. Milo is the substrate of choice for growers running multiple bags at once, favored across the cultivation community for its speed and consistency.
Because the kernels are small and consistent in size, hydration is easier to get right on a first attempt than with oats or corn — one of the more forgiving grains for a first grain bag. Every bag is sterilized in a commercial autoclave at 15 PSI and batch-tested with biological indicators before it ships, so you're never gambling on sterility. Expect visible colonization within a week under normal incubation conditions.
